In Demand Names New Affiliate SVP

By R. THOMAS UMSTEAD -- Multichannel News, 2/5/2001

In Demand last week tapped entertainment industry executive Susan Scott as its senior vice president of distribution.

Scott, who has worked for Turner Entertainment Networks and Fox News Channel, will oversee the pay-per-view service's affiliate-relations and affiliate-marketing efforts, said In Demand executive vice president Rob Jacobson. She'll also be heavily involved in corporate planning and strategy, he said.

Scott will also oversee the network's regional vice presidents and jointly manage In Demand's national affiliate-marketing group.

Prior to In Demand, Scott worked as vice president of sales for The FeedRoom.com, a news Web site that offers personalized delivery of news and related programming via broadband video-streaming channels.

"We're delighted to make this very important addition to our executive management team," Jacobson said in a statement. "Susan is a seasoned entertainment executive who is smart, enthusiastic and brings a wealth of experience in both sales and advertising on a number of distribution platforms.

"I know that Susan will come out running and look forward to having her on our team," he added.

Scott also spent time at Fox News Channel, where she was vice president of business development; and at Turner Entertainment Networks International, where she served as director of business development both for Latin America and for all entertainment networks.

"The aggressive launch of digital cable makes this the ideal time to re-enter the cable business and thus take advantage of the unique role In Demand will play in supplying digital content," Scott said.
