ADELPHIA

Adelphia Media Services announced five promotions: Todd Kuhn to regional vice president, northeast region; Dale Reynolds, to VP, central region; Jane Sehr to VP, Great Lakes region; Scott Swanson, to VP, southeast region; and Michael Wilczynski, to VP, western region. The five had been directors of their respective territories.

CABLE CENTER

The Cable Center named James Anderson, director of development. He had been president of Peak Productions Inc., located in Denver.

COM21

Com21 Inc. announced two appointments: William Gallager was appointed vice president, sales and marketing. He had formerly served as VP, worldwide sales. Jeff Jarvis was appointed VP, network systems division. He had been VP, operations for NetSchools Corporation.

CNBC

Steve Sherman was named vice president, research. He had been director, research for CNBC.com.

CNN

David Payne was appointed senior vice president, business operations for domestic networks and Web sites. He had been senior VP, general manager of CNN/Sports Illustrated Interactive. Tony Maddox was named senior VP, CNN International in the Europe/Middle East/Africa region. He had been VP and managing editor. Ian Macintosh was upped to senior VP, Asia Pacific. He had been VP, broadcast affiliates for CNN in the Asia Pacific region.

LIFETIME

Lifetime Television announced three promotions: Kelly Abugov to senior vice president, programming. She had been VP, West Coast programming and creative affairs; Marian Effinger to VP, reality programming. She had been director; and Paul Noble to VP, film acquisitions and scheduling. He had been director, feature films.

MOTOROLA

Yuval Bloch was appointed president, general manager of Invisix, a joint venture between Cisco and Motorola.

MOVIE WATCH

John J. deGarmo was appointed senior vice president, affiliate relations. He had been VP, new ventures at Scripps Networks.

MTV NETWORKS

Michael Cole was appointed vice president, MTV films. He had been VP, production at Miramax and Dimension Films. Preston Kevin Lewis was named director, marketing and retail at MTV Networks. He had been director of marketing at HBO Home Video. Andra Shapiro was promoted to executive VP, business affairs and general counsel of Nickelodeon, TV Land and TNN: The National Network. She had been senior VP and general counsel.

NEWS CORP.

John P. Nallen was promoted to executive vice president and deputy chief financial officer of News Corporation. Lon Jacobs was promoted to executive VP and deputy general counsel.

NCTA

The National Cable Television Association promoted David Pierce to director, public affairs. He had been director, research and policy analysis. Rick Cimerman was named senior director, state telecommunications policy. He had been director.

RAINBOW MEDIA

Judith Tolkow was named vice president, programming and development for The Metro Channel. She had been VP, programming at the Sundance Channel.

STARZ ENCORE

Starz Encore Group LLC promoted Richard Turner vice president, business affairs programming. He had been executive director, business and legal affairs.

SUSQUEHANA

Susquehana Media Co. announced the appointment of Lorin Decker director, corporate development. He had been director, planning and development at Discovery Communications Inc.

TCM

Tom Brown was named vice president, program productions for Turner Classic Movies. He had been director.

USA NETWORK

Chris McCumber was appointed senior vice president, on-air promotion. He had been creative director for media and entertainment at Razorfish. Lorenzo de Guttadaurowas named VP, creative director. He had been senior art director with the National Football League.
