EchoStar, Warner Bros. Ink VOD Pact

By Linda Moss -- Multichannel News, 8/24/2006 4:44:00 PM

EchoStar Communications’ Dish Network reached an agreement to offer current and library titles from Warner Bros. Home Entertainment Group on its on-demand and pay-per-view services, including HDTV, officials said Thursday.

“Warner Bros. is a great addition to both Dish On Demand and pay-per-view," EchoStar vice president of programming Susan Arnold said in a prepared statement. “Hit movies such as V for Vendetta greatly enhance the variety of movie titles available to our customers."

Customers have immediate access to the newest VOD movies on Dish On Demand and can use the digital-video-recorder features (pause, fast-forward, rewind) to enhance their viewing experience.
Dish PPV offers a variety of movies every day. Customers with HDTV-capable receivers can tune into channel 9467 to see PPV movies in HDTV. All PPV movies can be ordered via remote control, by calling an 800 number or online.

"Warner Bros. is pleased to expand its existing relationship with EchoStar to include the Dish On Demand platform," said Andrew Mellett, VP of on-demand for Warner Bros. Home Entertainment. "EchoStar has been a great partner to Warner Bros. and we look forward to working with Dish Network to make its Dish On Demand service a great success."
