David Blau, 36
Cox Business Services, Las Vegas

Las Vegas is one of the fastest growing cities in the country, and Cox Communications is growing with it. With that in mind, the No. 3 cable operator has entrusted strategic direction and growth of its business services to vice president and general manager David Blau.

“When I joined Cox Business Services, our team envisioned doubling the size of our business and growing to $100 million while creating Cox’s largest commercial business, and we are excited about reaching those goals this year,” said Blau. “Our vision is to be the dominant provider of telecom services to businesses in Southern Nevada and the gaming/resort industry, and with the dedicated and entrepreneurial spirit of our team, we are well on our way.”

Blau joined Cox in 1997 as a senior financial analyst and was soon elevated to manage investment planning, helping lead strategic growth initiatives. Among his accomplishments: acquisition of more than 2 million customers and system trades that substantially furthered Cox’s clustering strategy.

Later, as director of business operations for the company’s central division, Blau helped lead integration of several newly-acquired markets.
