MobiTV Queues Up Sony Music Videos

Mobile-Video Provider’s Library Tops 7,000 Clips

By Todd Spangler -- Multichannel News, 6/7/2007 12:35:00 PM

MobiTV will provide access to more than 2,500 music videos from Sony BMG Music Entertainment, upping the wireless- and mobile-video aggregator’s music-video library to more than 7,000 clips.

Under the terms of the agreement between the two companies, MobiTV and Sony BMG will also create a series of customized channels featuring original video programming, ranging from long-form concerts to shows and series featuring individual artists.

For example, RCA Records artist Avril Lavigne has a mobile site called Avril TV, which will provide access to the singer’s entire video library and other content from phone handsets that support Wireless Application Protocol.

CBS Television Network will be the first sponsor of the ad-supported site.
