Cox Picks BroadSoft for Business Voice Services

Cable Operator’s Business Services Unit Aims at Small, Midsized Cos.

By Todd Spangler -- Multichannel News, 6/20/2007 12:04:00 AM

Orlando, Fla. -- Cox Business Services selected BroadSoft’s BroadWorks voice-over-Internet-protocol platform to provide services for small and midsized businesses.

The BroadWorks platform lets operators deliver IP-hosted private-branch-exchange (PBX) services, which provide features found in high-end corporate phone systems, such as extension dialing.

“BroadSoft’s experience and additional know-how of the VoIP world provides a great foundation for us to leverage as we expand our IP strategy and enable customers with advanced communication features to increase productivity and ensure business continuity,” Cox Business Services vice president of product development and management Kristine Faulkner said in a prepared statement.

Other BroadSoft customers include Korea Telecom, Sprint, Telefónica de España, Telstra and Verizon Communications.
