Comedy Central Launches Indecision2008.com

Stand-Alone Political-Humor Web Site Focused on Presidential Election

By Jason Braff -- Multichannel News, 6/21/2007 12:39:00 PM

Having trouble deciding who you like and dislike in next year’s presidential election? Comedy Central will be glad to make your decision harder.

Comedycentral.com Thursday announced the launch of Indecision2008.com, the network’s first stand-alone political-humor Web site.

The site will broadcast daily content from Comedy’s various politically based parody shows -- including The Daily Show with Jon Stewart, The Colbert Report and Lil’ Bush -- as well as clips from stand-up-comedy acts.

Features on the new Web site will include up-to-the-minute updates on election happenings from its own blogger, “The InDecider,” along with at-a-glance campaign factoids, interactive polls and a public forum.

“The presidential election has long been a source of comedic inspiration for our shows and our network,” Comedy executive vice president of digital media Erik Flannigan said in a prepared statement. “With Indecision2008.com, Comedy Central is augmenting the best of our on-air coverage with programming exclusively created for the Web audience, which is cordially invited to participate and join in the fun.”

Comedy’s Indecision 2004 was a success for the network, winning a Peabody Award in 2004.

Popular democratic presidential nominee John Edwards went as far as to announce his run for presidency on The Daily Show during its Sept. 25, 2003, airing.
