Former TiVo chief financial officer Steve Sordello joined LinkedIn, an online professional network, as CFO.

Sordello, who joined TiVo in August 2006, has also worked at Ask Jeeves, Adobe Systems and Syntex.

"Steve is a proven Silicon Valley veteran who will be invaluable as we manage our explosive growth," LinkedIn CEO Dan Nye said in a prepared statement.

Privately held LinkedIn said it has more than 11 million members and is growing at a rate of 180,000 members per week. The company is backed by Sequoia Capital, Greylock, the European Founders Fund and Bessemer Venture Partners.
