Gemstar-TV Guide Licenses Patents to MeeVee

Agreement Covers Interactive Program Guides

Gemstar-TV Guide International signed a multiyear patent-licensing agreement with TV-listings provider MeeVee covering interactive program guides provided at MeeVee.com and those provided through partners.

Financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

MeeVee, based in Burlingame, Calif., operates its own destination site for consumers and also licenses its service in an-ad partnership model to cable operators, newspapers, broadcasters and online-content providers.
