Bravo Applauds Renewal Pair

‘Top Design,’ ‘Shear Genius’ Return For Second Seasons

By Mike Reynolds -- Multichannel News, 12/6/2007 9:03:00 AM

Bravo has reordered a pair of competition shows for their second seasons.

Shear Genius and Top Design will return for their sophomore campaigns next year, Frances Berwick, Bravo executive vice president, programming and production, announced today.

Top Design, according to network officials, will get its own makeover for season two from Magical Elves, the production company behind Bravo's Top Chef and Project Runway franchises, with the hour show pitting interior designers, artists and architects in a showcase to create the top design each week, en route to a $100,000 grand prize. Dan Cutforth and Jane Lipsitz are executive producers.

“Like fashion designers and chefs, interior designers inhabit a rich, visual world that attracts fascinating personalities, so we are really excited to take on the challenge of bringing this successful show to the next level,” said Cutforth in a statement.

Hosted by award-winning actress, designer and entrepreneur Jaclyn Smith, Shear Genius will again offer a behind-the-scenes look at the competitive and creative world of high-end hairstyling. The cut-above contestant will be named the “shear genius” and receive a $100,000 prize. Shear Genius is produced for Bravo by Reveille, with Mark Koops serving as executive producer.

Casting will begin for both series in the upcoming weeks. For complete casting information, go to www.bravotv.com/casting.
