Polaroid Taps Gemstar Guide for TVs, DVRs

-- Multichannel News, 1/8/2008 8:08:00 AM

Gemstar-TV Guide International said it signed a multi-year interactive program guide agreement with Polaroid Labs, which intends to incorporate the new “Data Loader” guide into some digital television gear.

Polaroid will begin launching the Data Loader IPG in products beginning in early 2008, initially in digital video recorders and possible later in a range of Polaroid TV products, the companies said. The Data Loader IPG lets users develop their own graphical user interface for a unique on-screen guide, Gemstar said.
