Premium network Showtime said that with the addition of Californication to the menu last week it now has six of the 10 most downloaded shows on iTunes.
The David Duchovny-starrer about a transplanted New York writer trying to come to grips with professional and relationship issues, while bedding a number of women, ranks third on the iTunes list. Californication places behind only the first season of Family Guy and the king of video downloads this week, The Tudors, Showtime’s portrait of a young and ribald Henry VIII.
The second 10-installment reign of The Tudors is slated to bow on the pay channel March 30.
Special Dave Chappelle: For What It’s Worth rates fourth, with the second and first seasons of drug dealer comedy Weeds, finishing sixth and seventh, respectively.
The rookie season of serial killer series Dexter, which will make its debut on sister service CBS on Feb. 17, was eighth on iTunes list.
The other shows on iTunes's Top 10 for the week: Comedy Central's South Park: Uncensored at No. 5; the third season of ABC's Lost at No. 9; and the fifth season of Family Guy at No. 10.
iTunes does not disclose the specific number of downloads per title.
