Discovery Rings Up ‘Boom-De-Yada’

Network's Brand Spot Now Available As Ringtones, MP3s

-- Multichannel News, 5/3/2008 7:19:00 AM

Discovery Channel is making its on-air brand spot, “ I Love The Mountains,” better known as “Boom-De-Yada,” available as free downloadable ringtones and MP3 files.

The promo, which debuted on Discovery April 15, features the channel's talent -- notably Dirty Jobs' Mike Rowe knee deep in muck, Mythbusters' Jamie Hyneman and Adam Savage up to their usual antics in the lab and Man v,s Wild 's Bear Grylls in the middle of nowhere --singing an anthem set to the old children's song, “I Love the Mountains."

The song's lyrics were rewritten to reflect Discovery’s personalities and passions.

Downloadable video and six different ringtones are available at the Plug In! area of discovery.com. Ringtones can be downloaded directly from cell phones at.discoverychannel.com. All downloads are free.
