Molotov Alva And His Search For The Creator

(Cinemax, Thursday, May 15, 8 p.m.)

The Rundown: Cinemax brings reality to the virtual cyberspace world as viewers follow the exploits of film director Douglas Gayeton’s online alter ego as he searches for the meaning of life within the confines of an online existence.

Pros: Unique approach to filmmaking as the show is completely within the animated world of popular online site Second Life.

Cons: Gayeton’s Alva online “character” fails to make an emotional connection with viewers in his quest to find his real self.

The Score: Give Cinemax credit for reaching beyond traditional filmmaking, but the story itself isn’t very compelling.
