CaribeVision Taps Nicholas To Lead Ad Sales

Veteran To Serve With Barba As Net’s Co-Divisional Leaders

-- Multichannel News, 5/10/2008 6:52:00 AM

CaribeVision, the Hispanic television network dedicated to serving Caribbean Hispanic audiences, has named industry veteran Emilio Nicholas, Jr. president and CEO of advertising.

In this newly created position, Nicholas, whose career has spanned three decades with management stops at such stations as WXTV-TV in New York, KMEX-TV in Los Angeles and most recently KAZH-TV in Houston, is now responsible for overseeing all national and local advertising sales and relationships with agencies and clients.

As a result, CaribeVision management will now be headed by two divisional president, Nicholas and Carlos Barba, president and CEO of programming.

“The fundamental principal behind this strategy is to have two divisions supervised by separate individuals, one division will focus on making television and the other on selling the product,” said CaribeVision president of administration Alejandro Burillo in a statement. “The division headed by Mr. Nicolas will always be dictated to the commercial end.  The content end that is in charge of producing and acquiring programming, as well as the news and editorial area, will continue to be headed by Mr. Barba. Mr. Barba will also continue to be responsible for ensuring that CaribeVisíon offers content in a unique and creative format.”
