The city council of Everett, Wash. Wednesday announced it has unanimously approved Verizon's video franchise to offer FiOS TV service in the 39,000-resident community.
Everett becomes the second city in the Evergreen State to approve the telco’s video franchise, joining Lynnwood, Wash., a community of 34,000 residents north of Seattle.
“Approval of Verizon's video franchise is great news for the residents of our Northwest headquarters city, Everett, who will soon have more choice for their video entertainment,” David Valdez, senior vice president for Verizon's Pacific Northwest region, said in a statement
The council's decision gives Verizon the authority to offer FiOS TV to the 39,000 households in Everett. Verizon already provides FiOS TV in parts of California, Delaware, Florida, Indiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Texas and Virginia.
