Northland Cable Taps SinglePipe To Manage Business, Residential Phone Services

MSO Appoints Accenture’s Carr As New COO

By Linda Haugsted -- Multichannel News, 7/29/2008 7:00:00 AM

Seattle-based Northland Cable Television has tapped SinglePipe, a facilities-based voice-over-Internet services provider, to manage the MSO's business and residential phone services.

Northland operates small cable systems in Alabama, California, Georgia, Idaho, North Carolina, South Carolina, Texas and Washington. The financial terms of the contract were not disclosed.

In other news, SinglePipe announced the appointment of Jeffrey Carr as its new chief operating officer. Carr was formerly a partner in Accenture's Global Technology consulting practice. There, he was the global lead in its communications and media subscriber management group.

SinglePipe’s managed service solution is a turn-key digital voice product that includes a range of packages for both residential and small to medium businesses, including regulatory compliance, FCC-compliant 911, local number portability, complete back- office integration and tier 2 and 3 support

“SinglePipe’s track record and willingness to integrate our company’s back-office systems made them a compelling choice for us,” said Northland senior vice president Jack Dyste in a statement.

The company was also attracted by the SinglePipe platform that would facilitate continued geographic growth and service offering expansion, Dyste added.

Northland will use the SinglePipe Integrated Provisioning System. That will give Northland the ability to integrate SinglePipe's Web-based back-office solution with Northland’s current systems. SIPS is integrated with a service-provisioning gateway, which facilitates flow-through billing and provisioning for commercial and residential VoIP services. The SIPS platform also incorporates customer care and support services software, which enables operators to rapidly launch new revenue-generating services, provide advanced customer care and ensure high levels of network availability.
