Versus Gets Jacked

Sports Net Will Integrate SportTop Ap Into Versus.com Web Site

By Linda Haugsted -- Multichannel News, 8/7/2008 2:40:00 PM

Sports network Versus has signed a deal with Jacked Inc. of Santa Monica, Calif., a developer of interactive applications, to integrate its Jacked SportTop application into Versus.com.

The application, tested this year's Stanley Cup final hockey games, allow fans to go to their computers and call up trivia, team photos, news and related features on the contest they are watching on television. Versus will use the application during future National Hockey League Games and Stanley Cup coverage and collegiate sports coverage in the Pac 10, Big 12 and Mountain West conferences.

Relevant content on those games is available to fans as a game unfolds, and viewers can use the application to chat with one another.

Use of a Web application synchronized to a telecast will give the partners the ability to offer advertisers cross-platform availabilities that are “geo-targeted and synced” with the telecast.

Brian Biniak, CEO of Jacked, said the company is one of 30 companies that are part of Microsoft's Startup Accelerator program.
