Galavision’s Lynch Promoted as President of Univision Stations

Joanne Lynch Will Oversee 63 Stations

By Kent Gibbons -- Multichannel News, 8/12/2008 9:43:00 AM

New York—Univision Communications said Galavision general manager Joanne Lynch has been promoted to president of the Television Station Group, overseeing 63 Univision and TeleFutura stations.

Sebastian Trujillo, senior vice president and operating manager of the Galavision Network, will take over Lynch's responsibilities at the cable network and report directly to Univision Communications COO Ray Rodriguez, as does Lynch, who replaces Terry Mackin, who left the company a week ago.

Lynch, who was a senior VP, has more than 20 years experience in broadcasting, working at Cox Broadcasting and TK Communications before joining Univision in 1991, where she has held several positions of increasing responsibility. She’s been a sales and new-business account executive and was VP vice president of National Sales for Univision's Southeast region before joining Galavision.

“In addition to strong management skills and proven experience in the industry, Joanne brings a unique understanding of the company to this position,” Rodriguez said in a release. “This experience, combined with her business acumen and vision, will be instrumental in the continued success of our stations.”
