Little League World Series Returns to ABC, ESPN

Networks Will Telecast All 32 Games from Williamsport, Pa.

ABC, ESPN and ESPN2 will telecast all 32 games of the 2008 Little League World Series from Williamsport, Pa. from Aug. 15 through the championship game on Sunday, Aug. 24.

ABC, which is entering its 48th-consecutive year of coverage the Little League World Series, will broadcast the International Championship game on Saturday, Aug. 23 at 12:30 p.m. ET, the United States Championship game on Saturday, Aug. 23 at 3 p.m. and the Little League World Series Championship game on Sunday, Aug. 24 at 3:30 p.m.

All 32 games will be telecast in high definition for the fourth year in a row, network officials said, with every ESPN and ESPN2 telecast alsp simulcast on ESPN360.com.

ESPN’s Gary Thorne and analyst Orel Hershiser will call all the games held at Lamade Stadium while Karl Ravech and analyst Orestes Destrade will work the games from Volunteer Stadium. Stacey Dales and Pedro Gomez will support the broadcasts with reports throughout the tournament.

Brent Musburger, Hershiser and Dales will provide commentary for both U.S. Semifinal games while Thorne, Destrade and Gomez will handle the International Semifinal games.

ESPN will have an on-site set in Williamsport throughout the Little League World Series, serving as a host position in providing content for studio programming.  Karl Ravech will host with ESPN analysts, reporters and guests. Baseball Tonight will originate from Williamsport Tuesday, Aug. 19, through Thursday, Aug. 21.
