BigBand Switches On Digeo

Vendor’s Switched Digital Video Platform Enabled For Digeo’s Moxi HD DVR

By Todd Spangler -- Multichannel News, 8/19/2008 10:12:00 AM

BigBand Networks will integrate its switched digital video platform to work with Digeo’s Moxi high-definition digital video recorder, as BigBand tries to extend its positioning as having the broadest support for third-party infrastructure among SDV vendors.

BigBand has integrated—or is in the process of integrating—its switched digital video solution with Motorola, Cisco Systems and DVB conditional access systems. Its SDV system also works with five electronic programming guides.

Digeo, backed by Microsoft co-founder Paul Allen, earlier this year cut its workforce in half as it scrapped plans for a retail DVR play in favor of distributing its set-tops through cable operators.
