Championship Gaming Series Names Marketing VP

Scot Rubin Takes Exec Post at Pro Gaming League

By Larry Barrett -- Multichannel News, 9/5/2008 2:18:00 PM

Championship Gaming Series, the professional video gaming league, this week named Scot Rubin as its new vice president of marketing.

Rubin, who has more than 13 years of experience building online communities and monetizing interactive programming, most recently provided consulting and production services to the likes of CNet’s GameSpot, MTV’s GameTrailers and Hewlett Packard as the founder of All Games Productions.

CGS officials said Rubin will report directly to COO Geoff Stevens and will be responsible for managing global strategy, development, execution and ongoing oversight of the league’s marketing endeavors.

Previously, Rubin served as a consultant for Comcast to develop the video game TV channel G4.

The CGS, based in Los Angeles, was launched in 2007 as a joint venture among BSkyB, DirecTV and STAR. The league features teams of the world’s best gamers from North and Latin America, the United Kingdom, Europe, the Middle East, Asia and Australia and delivers content to more than 450 million homes via DirecTV.
