Oklahoma's largest not-for-profit health organization is expanding its telemedicine capabilities with an advanced data solution from Cox Business.
The data connections allow facilities in the Integris Health network to execute remote video consultations, real-time information exchange, imaging and voice-over-Internet-protocol applications.
The need for pre-term fetal monitoring is an example of an application that drove the decision to enhance network services purchased from Cox, company officials said. The advanced data solution allows, for instance, treatment of a woman with a high-risk pregnancy at her local facility with the same level of care she might receive if she had to drive to Oklahoma City, according to hospital officials.
The service links eight rural hospitals with two large medical centers in Oklahoma City.
