U-Verse Debuts AccuWeather On-Demand

Service Now Available In Five AT&T Video Markets

AT&T is launching Weather On Demand, whose content is provided by AccuWeather.com service, on its U-verse TV platform, officials said Tuesday.

The interactive feature that will allow AT&T U-verse customers to find the weather information they want, in the city they want, at the time they want — at the touch of a button.

U-verse TV subscribers in Atlanta, Austin, Texas, Dallas-Fort Worth, Indianapolis and San Diego can now access the feature at no extra charge. AT&T plans to make it available to all U-verse TV customers in 2009.

“Weather On Demand is another great example of the benefits of U-verse TV and our Internet Protocol platform,” G.W. Shaw, AT&T executive director of U-verse marketing, said in a statement. “We’re making it easy for customers to check weather conditions and forecasts in their hometown or across the country, whenever they want. We know that AccuWeather.com’s content will be a great resource for our U-verse TV customers who want up-to-date and accurate weather information.”

Customers can access weather information for their home city and any other U.S. city they specify on their “My Cities” list by tuning to Channel 227. 

Customers can also v
iew weather information for cities throughout the country, notably:
*local conditions, including high/low temperatures, humidity, wind, visibility and barometric pressure;
*local and nationwide forecasts, including hourly and six-day outlooks;
*Access animated local and national radar imagery and satellite views;
*Watch current videos of meteorologists presenting the local weather updates.
