Opening Night Doubleheader Delivers Strong Ratings

Versus Monday said it garnered record ratings during its opening night coverage of the NHL, pulling a 0.5 and 0.3 rating, respectively, for a pair of Oct. 9 games.
The Toronto-Detroit matchup delivered a 0.5 rating and more than 572,000 total viewers while the nightcap featuring the Boston Bruins and the Colorado Avalanche checked in with a 0.3 rating.
Versus said the Toronto-Detroit telecast was the most-watched regular season game in network history, with more than 360,000 households tuning in.
The national household rating for the two games enjoyed a 33-percent increase compared to the opening night games last year, while total viewership rose 17 percent (413,892 vs. 353,269).
