SACRAMENTO, CALIF. — Western Integrated Network's $500 million overbuild of this city ran into trouble last week.
With construction already months behind schedule, city officials are now refusing to issue any additional building permits until a contractor working in the city's Natomas section addresses delayed restoration work caused by months of bad weather.
Company executives met with city officials last week and laid out an "aggressive" plan to resolve the problem "within 10 days to two weeks," said Western Integrated vice president Bill Mahon. The city will begin issuing construction permits once the restoration work is complete.
