NCTA Makes 'Broadband' Tag Happen

WASHINGTON — The tagline for this June's National Show will be, "We're Making Broadband Happen," the National Cable Television Association said last Wednesday.
The 50th annual convention, set for McCormick Place in Chicago, takes place June 10 through June 13. Its chairman is Charter Communications Inc. CEO Jerald Kent.
Cable & Telecommunication Association for Marketing CEO Char Beals will host the opening plenary session on June 10 at 1:30 p.m. CDT, the NCTA said.
Sue Herera, co-host of CNBC's Business Center , will host the convention's opening general session, at 9:15 a.m. CDT on June 11. Panelists will include Charter's Kent, Comcast Corp. president Brian Roberts and Viacom Inc. COO Mel Karmazin.
The June 12 general session will feature Lifetime Television CEO Carole Black, A&E Television Networks president Nick Davatzes, Microsoft TV president Jon DeVaan, Wink Communications Inc. CEO Maggie Wilderotter and Insight Communications Inc. president Michael Willner.
The trade association also said convention goers will be able to attend on a daily basis by paying an à la carte registration fee.
