TV Guide Channel

New York — TV Guide Channel announced its first long-form entertainment programs for the 2001-2002 season, including its first half-hour show. What’s On, set to bow this summer, will be a daily guide to primetime. Each show will close with a “Pick of the Night” from TV Guide magazine editor Mark Schwed. The channel will also introduce four 15-minute programs in the new season to build on recent Nielsen Media Research ratings momentum.

In Demand LLC

New York — In Demand LLC is moving affiliates toward a paperless world. The cable-industry pay-per-view purveyor bowed a new affiliate Web site — an offshoot of indemand.com — aimed at making it the network’s principal forum to provide MSO executives and vendors with updated information and materials.

Showtime Event Television

New York — With fewer events, the pay-per-view industry sustained a marginal revenue falloff during the first quarter. PPV-event revenue declined 4 percent as 23 events generated $62.7 million, down from the $65.1 million amassed by 26 events in the initial 2000 period, according to a study released by Showtime Event Television.
