Chinese Anti-Tibetan Rhetoric Lifted from Rocky & Bullwinkle March 20, 2008
Over the past few days, the Chinese have accused the Dalai Llama (The 14th Reincarnation of The Living Buddha) of fomenting the latest unrest in Tibet. They referred to His Holiness as a "splittest."
Yesterday, in remarks that are sure to hit Comedy Central's The Daily Show or The Colbert Report faster than you can say "truthiness," the Chinese stepped up the rhetoric.
Using verbiage reminiscent of the good old days of the cold war, Communist Party chief of Tibet, Zhang Qingli slung mud and called His Holiness a "jackal in Buddhist monk's robes, an evil spirit with a human face and the heart of a beast! We are engaged in a fierce battle of blood and fire with the Dalai clique."
Seriously, is it me or...do they sound a bit like Rocky and Bullwinkle's Natasha & Boris? (It would be funny, except that as many as 103 people have died in the protests.)
