DirecTV Adds 16 New HD Channels
October 15, 2007
DirecTV customers once again woke up this morning to find that the HD Fairy came again early this morning.
Added today were the following new HD Channels:
- Cartoon Network HD
- Fox Business HD
- Fuel TV HD
- FX-HD
- HGTV HD
- Speed Network HD
Four new HD regional sports networks were added:
- FSN Detroit
- FSN Southwest
- FSN West
- FSN Prime Ticket
In addition DirecTV lit up 6 new high definition pay per view channels.
With these new HD channels comes a new DIRECTV.COM homepage announcing, “They’re Here”. The new page also shows their massive new lineup (although quite a few of the channels shown in the flash animation are still not available at this time.)
In addition the satellite company has launched a new ad campaign yesterday and was featured on many of the NFL football telecasts around the country. The new campaign features the company tooting its horn with its new high definition lineup.
While DIRECTV has been adding lots of new HD content over the past few weeks, it’s main competitor DISH Network has been quiet on its HD expansion plans.
FOX Business Channel Launches on DIRECTV
The latest news channel from FOX has launched this morning on DIRECTV in both Standard Definition and High Definition on channel 359.
The new FOX Business Channel offers a number of new features including the new FOX HD WING for HD viewers, which gives stock quotes, and business news updates for HD viewers.
