More HD Surprises From Dish
April 18, 2008

Dish Network surprised customers once again today by lighting up USA Network HD and SCIFI HD today.  These two channels were the most requested by Dish Network customers in many of the online satellite discussion forums.

The USA Network already has lots of shows in HD such as Law and Order and plus USA is the home of cables number one television show WWE Monday Night RAW which is also in full high definition.

SCIFI Network is the home of Battlestar Galactica which is starting to draw quite a following, and with this years season being in High Defintion was one of the most requested HD channels.

A lot of Dish Network customers were expecting HD but not USA and SCIFI, instead they were thinking that Cartoon Network HD would be launching today.  For some reason Dish Network updated its HD channel listings yesterday at its website and added to the listing were CNN HD and Cartoon Network HD.

Earlier this afternoon the page was corrected and Cartoon Network HD was missing from the listings.  They have not updated the page yet as of this writing to add USA and SCIFI.

By Dish launching these channels they are trying to show their customers and investors that it is “full speed ahead” with its spring HD launch plans.  I expect that these channels are just the first of many we will see added by the end of the month.

Have a great weekend everyone!

I hereby withdraw all the nasty comments I made about CNN-HD on Wednesday. I am ecstatic to see SciFi in HD!
