Another DISH Outage

Wednesday nights primetime was cut short for Dish Network customers, as the satellite giant had its second major outage in four days.
On Saturday afternoon Dish Network customers lost most of their channels for close to two hours. On Wednesday night at 10:30 PM Eastern Time service was lost again for just under a half hour.
A spokesperson for Dish Network stated that the outages "were weather related."
Indeed looking at the weather radar and weather reports for Cheyenne, Wyoming (the location of Dish Network's main uplink) confirmed that weather was indeed the culprit. Many retailers from around the country had a hard time explaining why a storm in Wyoming would knock out television when their local weather was clear.
One retailer told me that his phone was ringing off the hook for both of the outages. The retailer (who asked not to be identified) said he was happy when the signal came back on, as he could finally get some peace and quiet because his phone had finally stopped ringing.

Dish Network Customers can enjoy a free STARZ weekend starting today on channels 291 through 297.
Viewers will be able to tune in to top movies such as Talladega Nights, Flight Plan, and The Da Vinci Code. The Dish Network / STARZ free preview runs through Sunday.
