TBS HD and More HD from DirecTV
October 3, 2007
It’s the time of the year most baseball fans have been looking forward to; it’s the start of the playoffs. For many they will be enjoying all the playoff action if full High Definition, that is unless the customer is a customer of DISH Network.
Dish Network is the only major multi channel provider that has not launched the new TBS HD channel.
DIRECTV was the first company to launch TBS HD last week, and since then all the major cable companies have signed deals to carry TBS HD. These signings come just in time for the MLB playoffs that start today.
DISH Network has been calling itself the leader in High Definition for sometime now. Today they need to prove that they are serious about High Definition and launch TBS HD in time for the playoffs. It’s the 9th inning and DISH has the bases loaded, there are no balls, two strikes and two outs. Will Dish continue to be the HD Leader? We will find out today.
DIRECTV LAUNCHES MORE HD
While many woke up wondering what’s going on at DISH Network, DirecTV customers woke up once again feeling the joy as the company launched 11 additional HD channels early this morning.
The new channels that were launched today are as follows:
Bravo HD
Cinemax HD EAST
Cinemax HD West
Comcast SportsNet Chicago HD
Comcast SportsNet Mid-Atlantic HD
HBO HD West
New England Sports Network (NESN) HD
Scifi Channel HD
SportsNet New York (SNY) HD
USA Network HD
YES Network HD
DIRECTV expects to have at least 70 HD channels online by the end of October.
