DISH Scores TBS-HD
October 8, 2007
DISH Network Baseball fans got a nice surprise on Friday Night as DISH Network lit up TBS-HD just in time for game two of the Yankees versus the Indians.
Viewers were amazed by the picture quality of the game and also many reported being grossed out by all the bugs they saw flying around their favorite players.
For many DISH Network customers the highlight of the night was finally being able to see the Boston Red Sox in HD on DISH Network. And what a game is was as Red Sox fans were treated to with a walk up homer by Manny Ramirez to end the game. (And if you thought it looked great on TBS-HD you should have seen it in person! I was lucky enough to get tickets for this game and to be part of the celebration.)
Changes at DIRECTV
On Friday John Suranyi DIRECTV’s President of Sales and Service resigned. Mr. Suranyi joined DIRECTV in 2004 after coming to DIRECTV from DISH Network.
We wish Mr. Suranyi well in his future endeavors.
On My Way to Reno
I admit it I am a geek. And I also must admit I love going to industry trade shows. I love talking face to face with people who work in the industry. I also love meeting readers and members of my site.
So as I type today’s column I am also packing up getting ready to head out to Reno, NV for another industry trade event, this one being the Satellite and Broadband Expo. This is a small show, and while the attendance is low, I consider it one of the best shows of the year. I enjoy being able to have real face time with all the satellite companies in attendance; at the SBE show you are name and not just another number passing through a booth.
If you are attending the SBE show and spot me, please stop me and say hello! I got to warn you though; my head is not as big as my avatar here at MultiChannel.COM shows. (grin)
