The Force Is Back for Cartoon Network
Look out, Jedis. The Bounty Hunters are coming.
The Star Wars saga continues Friday night as “Star Wars: The Clone Wars” returns for a second season on Cartoon Network.
The animated series from George Lucas and his Lucasfilms Animation studio, is set between the Episodes II and III of the “Star Wars” films. The key Jedi figures are the young Obi-Wan Kenobi and the pre-Darth Vader Anakin Skywalker. Joining them is the girlish Ahsoka Tano, who listens to her elders about as well as my three year old.
The Jedi’s are trying to keep the universe from falling to the dark side and a new danger pops up this season—a band of fearsome bounty hunters, led by the ruthless Cad Bane.
(Other bounty characters from the “Star Wars” film will be making an appearance in “Clone Wars” this season.
In the hour-long premiere, Bane is conducting a brazen break in of the Jedi’s own temple. He’s after the ancient secrets of the Jedi order in a chamber on members of the Jedi council are allowed into.
Yoda, of course, is first to detect the danger, feeling a disturbance in the force.
“Intruders there will be in the temple,” he says, as put it only Yoda would.
As a punishment for a previous indiscretion, Ahsoka Tano is assigned to boring guard duty where the secrets are stored.
Will the secrets get stolen? Will they undermine the Jedi’s authority? Tune in and see.
Season two will feature 22 all new episodes and it’s a good bet a bunch of boys will be watching.
Season one was the top ranked show on all of TV among boys 6 to 11. It is also likely to be enjoyed by other guys who never grew up.
