NFL Draft Dining

April 26, 2009

The first two rounds of the NFL Draft are complete. How did your team do on ESPN and NFL Network’s coverage of the annual collegiate cattle call?

The Jets trading up with the Browns to get USC QB Mark Sanchez was certainly appetizing. Others construe it as an after-dinner, thank-you toast from Eric Mangini, who traded his coaching seat in New York for a more lucrative deal in Cleveland.

The G-men? There’s ammo to suggest they’ve tied their wide receiver fortunes on someone who prefers buffets to pistols.

But for the millions of you have yet to sate your hunger for pro pigskin picking and prognosticating, consider this recommendation. If you’re going to make an eight-hour reservation Sunday to eat at the 2009 version of Mel Kiper Jr.’s “Meat Market,” you might want to consider broadening your palate by sampling another bill of fare, which also features prime cuts, business information and tips, albeit from a different industry and Mel.

Check out colleague Melissa Grego’s “Mel’s Diner” as an online noshing alternative during the five minutes between the teams’ menu selections.
