NBC's Chuck Todd Doesn't Mince Words

October 23, 2008

Two latest polls show huge leads for Barack Obama.  Quinnipiac has Obama ahead in Ohio by 14%.  Big Ten indicates a ten-point lead in Indiana.  Early voting turn-out is enormous in Florida and Nevada.

Yesterday, on MSNBC,  NBC political director Chuck Todd - referring to the McCain/Palin joint interview with NBC Nightly News anchor Brian Williams - did not mince words.  He suggested the McCain campaign has unraveled.

I cannot recall hearing such blunt talk on air from the press…well, ever,  much less two weeks before a presidential election.

Said Todd, "You can tell they know they’re losing…the chemistry is not there…As her negatives have gone up concerns about John McCain’s age have also gone up….I can’t emphasize enough the odd body language….you almost wonder why they wanted the two of them sitting together…"

Both MSNBC video versions below - the first is edited down; the second is the remarks in full.  Then, the third is the actual McCain/Palin interview with Brian Williams.
