Mike Huckabee Says "That Dog Won't Hunt"
Dear Mike Huckabee,
Finally, something that everyone can get behind. I don’t agree with your positions but that doesn’t mean you haven’t earned my respect. Thank you for calling on the McCain campaign to move past the fabricated media frenzy they created over Obama’s "lipstick on a pig" remark - which by all credible accounts did not, by any stretch of the imagination, refer to Sarah Palin.

Here’s what Huckabee said:
Last night, while on Hannity & Colmes I cut Barack Obama some slack on his reference to "lipstick on a pig." Now I personally don’t think he was referring to Gov. Palin, but if he was he should apologize immediately.
Almost twenty four hours into this new controversy and the accusations are continuing to fly from both campaigns. That’s too bad.
Let’s shift back to the issues. Barack Obama released an education proposal yesterday that has plenty of faults. Lets talk about it instead. Republicans have been arguing correctly for choice in our schools and adding accountability. Lets spend our time and energy focusing on what we stand for. There is plenty to talk about….
A return to the issues is what the American people expect and it is a mistake to think that our Republican ideas somehow can’t compete with the Democrats. And frankly, if anyone tells you otherwise, that dog won’t hunt.
ETA: a Rachel Sklar tweet - "….Obama: On Letterman tonite, he says that if Palin was anything in the lipstick/pig metaphor, she was the lipstick. GOP = pig."
ETA: Sklar tweet#2 - "Izhar Patkin, artist, says of the lipstick/pig kerfuffle: ‘it’s not fair to the pig.’"

sigh. yeah - I know Rob...the filters totally suck. I wish TPTB here would do something about that. I've complained for over a year. If you remove the h t t p, then I think you can post the link. thx.
Rob commented:
Man, the filters on here are impossible! It took forever to figure out what words were blocking my comments from posting. First I thought it was b i t c h. Turned out it was s e x i s t. Also tried to post a link to youtube video of the incident with the McCain supporter, but it too was blocked.
Rob commented:
(Continued) In that case, Dems would have been fully justified to express real outrage at the derogatory remark, and McCain's failure to condemn it. In the case of Obama's remarks being taken 100% out of context by the McCain campaign in order to distract voters and toss red meat to the right wing base, McCain once again shows he has no class and no honor, and is willing to say or do anything to get elected.
Rob commented:
I don't recall Dems flying into a rage (justified or not) when a McCain supporter asked him (in person) "How do we beat the b...h?" (referring to Hillary). McCain just shrugged it off like it was nothing.

Response to MaryHatesFox:
More 'fake' outrage at the lack of 'outrage'??? The rumors that were flying around regading Mrs Palin were based on sketchy reports at the time. There's still a lot uknown about her, but there's certainly not been any rumors or lies spready by anyone directly associated with the Obama campaign. UNLIKE the entire brouhaha about the pig's lipstick. The lies about what Obama said were officially spread directly by the McCain campaign. There's a HUGE difference between unconfirmed Internet rumors flying around, and official lying and official fake outrage coming direclty from a campaign. Bloggers spreading inuendo versus a presidential campaign that officially spreads lies are aren't even in the same league with each other.

MaryMac,
Funny how you show outrage when your Messiah is at the receiving end of the criticisms.
Where was your post when the lefty blogs were propagating every rumor about Gov Sarah Palin??
MaryMac, when you show equal outrage at your colleagues on the left, then I, and others will take you seriously. Until then, you show hypocrisy in its truest form.
