MTV's 'America's Best Dance Crew' IS America's Best Dance Show
MTV’s America’s Best Dance Crew is back! Season two begins tonight at 10p.

There are plenty of dance series on television coming and going these days: ABC’s Dancing with The Stars, Lifetime’s Your Mama Don’t Dance and Fox Network’s So You Think You Can Dance. (My daughter calls it So You Think You Can Walk.)
I have no idea how So You Think You Can Walk Dance manages their audition process. But I spotted at least 25 dancers on the street, in a single day at the recent How Weird street fair in San Francisco, who could blow past the So You Think You Can Dance "dancers." (taste of the How Weird action below. music: Boysnoize. "OH!" remix)
Randy Jackson’s America’s Best Dance Crew goes for the raw thumping, krumping energy of the streets, making other television dance competitions feel like a neo-Lawrence Welk Show. ("A one and a two…") Ten crews will vie for the 100K grand prize.
Prepare for the start of the ABDC by watching the ‘Season 2: Casting Special’ posted below. And check out the content-rich MTV site - exclusive vids, bonus clips, blogs, full episodes, and other stuff to keep the user fully engaged.
Says the MTV site in the "About The Show" section:
After each live competition ends, round 2 begins as the experience continues on MTV.com, where our blow-by-blow coverage includes daily rehearsal updates, injury reports and exclusive backstage interviews. Plus, you can submit your own dance videos, which just might be shown on-air, and chat with other fans about which crews are hot and which ones are not.
Compare and contrast with Fox.com’s So You Think You Walk Dance site which has given me the following warning all day today: "NOT FOUND The requested URL /DANCE/ was not found on this server."
Fox definitely has a looong way to go to compete with MTV.

The Pussycat Dolls recent appearance on So You Think You Can Walk Dance - definitely far more entertaining than most of the show.

I would really like to know your knowledge and background of dance because I have been studying dance for 20 yeas of my life, have a degree in it, and know many types and styles. The reason why So You Think You Can Dance has provided a great channel of information for the world is that it presents all types of dance, not just one kind or the "coolest" at the time. Dance is not meant to be flashy and exciting all the time. It is a way for people to explore their emotions and express themselves through movement. Movement is a cross-cultural language that can be understood by many people across the entire world. Those dancers do things that I am sure most of America could not do. I appreciate all types of dance and I think both shows you speak of are wonderful and the dancers are extremely talented in their own right. I don't believe they need to be underestimated by someone judging them on a the functionality of a website. Opinions like this are what make it hard for the dance industry to grow. These dancers and many more commit their lives to this art form and the only way the can make it is if they get on one of these shows. There are no movie star dancers or millionaire dancers. Some of the best dancers in the world struggled their whole lives financially, but continue to try and show the world their art. So before you give your opinions, I think you may want to do some more in-depth research of what you are commenting on.
