NFL Scores a Touchdown
With the official kickoff of Sunday football action the NFL scored a touchdown this weekend with fans across the country.
The NFL season kicked off with a touchdown with the kickoff of the new NFL RedZone channel. The NFL RedZone Channel is the best thing to happen to the NFL since the invention of the instant replay! I am not a big football fan but the NFL RedZone had me glued to my set on Sunday afternoon.
Whats so great about it? Every great play from the Red Zone from every team, with no blackouts, and no commercials. On air host Scott Hanson knows his football and hosted the entire days events without error.
Football fans that are Dish Network customers seemed to be thrilled with the new RedZone coverage. The online message forums at SatelliteGuys.US lit up with happy comments from many football fans.
OrlandoSGM wrote, “Enjoying the Red Zone all afternoon! It’s Sunday Football for ADD people!”
TSC said, I had no intension of subscribing to the $5.99 multi-sports package to get this channel.. but by 2PM or so, after reading people’s reactions and descriptions of the channel, I decided to get it.”
The coverage was so good that the new RedZone channel might cause a dent in subscriptions to DirecTV’s Sunday Ticket Package. Comments from SatelliteGuys members seemed to echo this fact.
“I have to agree with the people who say the Redzone channel is awesome. I watched it all day yesterday. Screw the sunday ticket. I have everything I need with Dish and now the Redzone channel.” Said SatelliteGuys member Scherrman.
“I’ve had Sunday Ticket in the past and I can honestly say that with the Red Zone channel, I felt like I didn’t miss a thing.” Said Zwildcats
Sexy Warlock wrote, “I’m enjoying it. It brings the small bit of ST that I would even actually enjoy. Without the insane pricing.”
But for some folks they rightfully felt that the true king of NFL coverage was DirecTV.
DirecTV’s coverage expanded this year so that folks with mobile phones could watch the games live, this new feature seemed to add to the ultimate fan feeling that DirecTV customers get from the NFL Sunday Ticket package.
The DirecTV NFL season kicked off to a tremendous reaction from their NFL fans that needed to see every play from their favorite teams.
DirecTV seemed to kick its HD coverage up a notch this year, as the HD was some of the best-looking HD I have seen on satellite in a long… long time. (Which has me wondering why can’t DirecTV’s HD can’t look that good all the time? That’s though is a question for a different time.)
Some viewers were even able to sit in their EZ chair and watch 3 games at a time, with one on their TV, a second game on their laptop and a third on their smart phones. For those folks this weekend Sunday Ticket kickoff was like pure heaven.
A big hats off to everyone for a job well done for the most successful NFL Sunday kickoff that I can remember.

for the six bucks through Dish Network, loose DirecTV and save Money by switching, it does not take a genius to figure that one out.

Can the DirecTV customers get the Red Zone channel without having to pay for the Sunday ticket? Didnt see that they offered it in their other sports package.
Comcast has problems commented:
showing the Red Zone in a lot of markets. Have had it with $5 sports package for two weekends now not on. Called up to complain they said most mountain state markets haven't been able to carry.

in response to DodgerKing, this IS a new channel. It is different from the Red Zone channel that DirecTV carries as part of ST. This new channel is produced by NFL Network and is carried by Dish and Comcast, and possibly a few other cable companies, though I know that as of a few weeks ago, Comcast was the only company to have reached an agreement with the NFL. Just thought I'd clarify. And I watched it all day Sunday this past Sunday and it was awesome. It's not Sunday Ticket, which I really wanted but didn't work out b/c of the shape of my apt building, but it's not a bad consolation...

Cox Cable still doesn't carry it.
I HATE COX CABLE.

And it has been around for years, so it is nothing new.

Why would you watch the 2nd and 3rd games on your laptop and smart phone instead of just using the 2nd and 3rd TV?
