Dish Website Woes Continue
I hope you had a great Thanksgiving weekend, I enjoyed Thanksgiving with my family and also enjoyed taking the family out to cut down the family Christmas tree and going for a hay ride. The weather here in Connecticut was amazing considering it’s the end of November. It was great seeing everyone in my family smile over the holiday weekend, for some of them it’s been awhile since they smiled, 2009 has been a tough year for them. I am hoping for a better 2009 for them and everyone else who has had a rough 2009.
It’s been a rough week for the web team over at Dish Network, many Dish Network customers can no login to Dish Networks website to check their Dish Network accounts or use the new Dish Network Remote Access feature. The new Dish Remote Access feature allows users to set timers on their Dish Network ViP DVR’s via the web, and in addition if those ViP receivers are hooked up to Slingbox units you can also watch shows from your Dish DVR’s via the website. For those who are locked out of Dish Remote Access you can still access the old Dish Remote Access website (which is going away shortly) at http://dish.sling.com. Let’s hope the web guys fix the issues with DishNetwork.COM soon as a week outage is not acceptable from a company as big as Dish.
Dish Networks website was not the only computer issue for Dish this weekend, last night the official Dish Network Twitter account was hacked. Luckily the hacker did nothing more then send out a spam message, the damage could have been much worse and Dish Network was able to quickly regain control of its official Twitter account this morning.

Things are busy at the Bailonur Kosmodrome in Kazakhstan, as the new Intelsat 15 satellite is scheduled to liftoff from there today at 4PM ET.
The launch will put the new Intelsat 15 satellite into orbit and will serve satellite customers in the Middle East and Indian Ocean regions as well as in Russia. This is Intelsat’s second launch in a week as last week on the 23rd Intelsat 14 was successfully launched. Intelsat also has another launch scheduled for February 2010 which is the Intelsat 16 satellite.
You can follow the launch and get status updates on the mission at http://www.sea-launch.com/current_launch.htm.
