A&E HD, History HD, NFL HD and YES HD are off the air

September 10, 2007

A three alarm fire is being blamed for pulling a number of High Definition stations from many cable and satellite providers on Monday.

The blaze occurred at 250 Harbor Drive in Stamford which houses Ascent Media Group, YES Network and a Time Warner office.

The fire was contained to a stairwell; however the building had a large amount of smoke and soot damage that needs to be cleaned up. Over 40 firefighters helped to fight the blaze.

It is unknown when employees will be allowed back in the building or when power will be restored. I am told by contacts that it will be “at least” another day before the stations are back online.

The affected stations which are currently off the air are, A&E HD, History Channel HD,  NFL Network HD and YES Network HD.
