DirecTV Scores Surprise Touchdown
Last night’s Super Bowl had people cheering and it wasn’t just for the New York Giants amazing victory over the New England Patriots, but many DirecTV customers were cheering as they were able to watch the big game in full High Definition.
DirecTV put a special feed of Fox 5 New York on channel 701 and made it available to most of the country. Many viewers who saw the game in HD were not Sunday Ticket customers and many of those who saw DirecTV’s HD feed did not live in Fox owned and operated areas.
Many customers were happy about this snafu though as they were able to see the big game in HD when there was no other way for them to see the HD broadcast. It may have been a mistake in making it available to almost everyone but from where I sit no yellow flag needed, in fact I think DirecTV scored a touchdown!
XM to cover Super Tuesday Wall to Wall
The folks at XM Satellite Radio are gearing up to cover tomorrows “Super Tuesday” presidential primary event. Voters in 28 states will go to cast their vote for the candidate they want to see be the next president.
XM’s coverage will air on P.O.T.U.S (President of the United States) which is channel 130. This channel is a non-partisan, commercial-free channel and is exclusive to XM Satellite Radio.
As I type this outside my office window I can see all the satellite trucks setting up for tonight’s speech by Senator Barack Obama at the XL Center (formally the Hartford Civic Center) security down stairs is already very tight and a number of streets around the XL center are closed due to tonight’s event.
If your state is one of those who will be participating in tomorrows “Super Tuesday” primary then please do your part and go out and vote!
