Radio Signals From Space
Here in the Satellite Dish we enjoy talking about all kinds of Satellite technology. Today seems to be a good day to talk about Satellite Radio, lots of good news and announcements and additions today. (And no the merger has not been approved yet)
First, it’s almost the most wonderful time of the year… yes folks if you haven’t figured it out yet the holiday season is upon us. Both satellite radio companies are now broadcasting 24-hour channels with nothing but holiday music.
On XM there are a total of six holiday channels. The holiday channels are as follows:
Holly – XM Channel 103 (DirecTV Channel 862)
Holiday Traditions – XM Channel 104 (DirecTV Channel 849)
Music City Holiday – XM Channel 105 (DirecTV Channel 809)
A Classical Christmas – XM Channel 106 (DirecTV Channel 866)
Special Xmas – XM Channel 107 (DirecTV Channel 848)
Radio Hanukkah – XM Channel 108 (Debuts 12/4 – Not on DirecTV)
Sirius Satellite Radio features 3 full time holiday channels this year, and those channels are as follows:
Sirius Holiday – Sirius Channel 2 (Dish Network Channel 6002)
Christmas Country – Sirius Channel 62 (Dish Network Channel 6062)
Classical Christmas – Sirius Channel 86 (Dish Network Channel 6086)
In addition to these 3 Sirius Holiday Channels being simulcast by Dish Network, Dish Network also features an additional Holiday Channel on Channel 982.
Today XM Satellite Radio launched “America’s Talk” on channel 158. This new channel (which is programmed entirely by Clear Channel) features talk favorites such as Coast to Coast AM, Bruce Williams among others. In addition popular weekend shows such as Leo Laporte and Gary Sullivan will be rebroadcast during the week.
Today XM also announce that if you activate ANY XM radio (new or used) between November 23rd and December 31st that you will get 3 months free service. A customer must agree to sign up for a total of at least 6 months and The value of three months free service will be applied over the first six months of service.
