DirecTV: No Joy for HD Fans… Yet

Many hard-core DIRECTV customers were disappointed when they woke up this morning to find no new HD channels listed in their guides.

For the past few days DIRECTV customer service representatives have been telling customers that some new HD channels would be appearing on DIRECTV at 6am this morning.

Many of the hard-core fans set their alarm clocks to get up early this morning to watch the new channels launch. Many of them expressed their disappointment in postings on the various online discussion forums.

Online television guide provider ZAP2IT.COM went live with the new channel lineup this morning with its online guide.

Calls to DIRECTV customer service this morning were inconsistent, one rep reported that the channels were delayed because of unspecified problems, while it is reported that many other callers were told that the new channels will be launched sometime today but they did not have any specific details.

The disappointment felt by many of the customers is due to all the excitement surrounding all of these new HD channels. For many DIRECTV customers they have waited years to see these new channels launch.

Much like taking the family on a long drive, the question from the kids is always “Are we there yet?” today many DIRECTV customers are asking the same question. Unfortunately at this time the answer is “no.”
