Get Ready To Start Your Engines!
The folks at DirecTV are getting ready once again to launch the NASCAR season and for their subscribers of its NASCAR Hotpass package viewers get will get more NASCAR then ever before.
This year DirecTV is expanding it’s in car coverage from 10 drivers to 13 drivers. Viewers will be able to virtually sit in the car with their favorite driver, and not only will you be able to see the race from your favorite drivers car but will be able to listen to the driver talk to his team in real time. Besides expanding the number of drivers available to 13, this year DirecTV expands the in car coverage in full high definition for 4 of the top drivers as voted by DirecTV customers.
Each week the in car cameras and audio will be from different drivers, the drivers are selected by DirecTV customers by voting online at directv.com/hotpass, however for the first weeks race DirecTV has setup a special poll at http://www.zoomerang.com/survey.zgi?p=WEB227CNKEWVAD voting closes on February 13th.
The DirecTV racing season will kick off on Sunday February 17th with the 50th Anniversary edition of the Daytona 500.
I wouldn’t consider myself being a big NASCAR fan, however last year I was able to view some races on DirecTV at a friends house, and the in car coverage made it feel like you were part of the drivers team.
Dish Network Tech Chat
On Monday Night Dish Network will present another edition of it’s “Tech Chat” for consumers. Judging from commercials I have seen this upcoming chat seems to be focused on Dish Network High Definition.
The show is hosted by Mark Jackson and Dan Minnick of Echostar and is an hour long look at the techy side of Dish Network. Some of the shows feature some good tech talk while other shows are nothing more then commercials for Dish Network commercials and products.
The Dish Network “Tech Chat” will air Monday night at 9PM ET / 6PM PT on Dish Network channel 101.
Have a great weekend!

One correction, Scott... the four drivers in HD will be the only ones you'll be able to see via HotPass. The other 13 drivers will have their audio feed carried on one channel, with the audio being selectable to listen to any one of those drivers. However, there will be no video of those drivers.
