NBCU-Fox JV: Help Wanted
Actually, 33 warm bodies, according to nbcufoxjobs.com. That’s the site set up by the JV looking to lure sales, marketing and technology talent in Los Angeles and New York (and one lonely account rep in Chicago).
Each of the job listings includes this stirring, motivational message redolent of bygone dot-com days: "With over 97% of the US internet traffic at stake, we have both an opportunity and an obligation to create something unique." It’s not just entertainment, folks. It’s a spiritual journey.
Evidently there’s still a little bit of work to do prior to the September-ish launch. Unless nbcufoxjobs.com has not been updated in the past few days, the NBCU-Fox JV (still calling itself NewSite) has yet to hire a vice president of national ad sales, who, among other things, will "build from scratch and manage, a national sales team to motivate, inspire and lead by example."
Also wanted: VP, branding & creative services, whose responsibilities include managing "NewSite brand execution deliverables including logo, color palette, icon, sonic ID, tagline, etc."
Heck, in just a few weeks? No prob!
The NewSite team also seeks a software engineer to create social-networking features and interactive applications for the, uh, NewSite. The job description reveals that the JV wants someone to "provide new sports functionality, help build out our suite of Fantasy Sports applications."
Golly, there’s your tagline for the NBCU-Fox JV right there: "It’s one louder."
