HDNet Gets NBC’s The Black Donnellys

HDNet secured rights to air all 13 episodes of the NBC drama The Black Donnellys, including seven that have never been broadcast.

HDNet reached a deal with NBC Universal Domestic Television Distribution for the rights, and it will start running the show June 13 at 8 p.m.

The Black Donnellys quickly became a fan favorite on NBC, and an online petition to save the show currently has more than 35,000 signatures.

The Black Donnellys is a great show with an incredibly loyal fan and viewer base,” HDNet president and cofounder Mark Cuban said in a prepared statement. “We are excited to air all 13 episodes, including the seven that have never been shown on TV before.”

The Black Donnellys centers on a family of Irish brothers in New York -- Jimmy, Tommy, Kevin and Shaun. They are troubled youths, for the most part, except for Tommy, who has become the family's best hope. However, when one of the brothers makes an ill-conceived mistake, Tommy's misguided loyalty to his family forces him down a path that will change his life forever.

The Black Donnellys is produced by NBC Universal Television Studio, and it will air every Wednesday on HDNet at 8 p.m.
