MTV: More Road Rules, Real World

A pair of MTV: Music Television perennials is moving toward new adventures.

The network said production has begun on a 13^th season of Road Rules, this time with six strangers convening in Chile and Argentina. The first of 16 installments is slated to bow in May.

And a 15^th season of The Real World will begin filming this spring in Philadelphia. The network expects to air 24 installments -- chronicling the interactions among seven people in a house for four months -- next fall.

The series has ranked first among 12- through 34-year-olds in its time slot among all of basic cable for seven consecutive seasons, network officials said.

The current series, Real World XIV: San Diego, has averaged 4.1 million viewers overall per premiere installment and garnered 3.2 million 12-34 watchers, the network’s demo target.

For its part, Road Rules XII: South Pacific averaged 1.9 million viewers 2+ and 1.5 million among the 12-34 set.

Both series were created for MTV by Bunim-Murray Productions.
