has added Joseph Matarese as chief technology officer.
He comes from Arris, where he was VP and GM of the
on-demand unit.
Also, Tricia Iboshi has joined BlackArrow as senior vice
president, client services and operations. She was senior
VP, sales, at KIT Digital.
And Dean McCormick has signed on as vice president,
advertising solutions. He was co-founder of Mix Media.

Voice communications systems provider Clear-Com has
advanced Bob Boster to president of the company. He
had been VP, worldwide sales.

Lizzie O’Leary has joined CNN’s Washington bureau as
aviation and regulation correspondent. She comes from
Bloomberg Television, where she covered politics and
economic policy.

Annie Howell was elevated to executive vice president,
corporate communications and media relations at
Crown Media Family Networks. She was senior VP, corporate
communications and media relations.

Comcast SportsNet Chicago has promoted Walter Cade
to general sales manager. The 20-year Chicago sports
advertising and marketing vet had been national sales
manager.

Laura Nelson has joined Current as senior vice president,
communications. She comes from communications
consulting firm The Gilbride Group, where she was
managing director.

Jen Drexler has joined New York-based Insight Strategy
Group as vice president, focusing on gender’s role in consumer
behavior. She comes from research firm Just As a
Woman, which focuses on womens’ consumer behavior.

Krista Sonne has been named vice president, scheduling
at Lifetime Networks. She comes from AMC in New York,
where she was VP, program planning and scheduling.
MEDIAVEST
Media-buying firm MediaVest USA has elevated
Christine Merrifield to president, video investment
and activiation. She had been executive VP, director
of video investment and activation, overseeing upfront
and scatter negotiations for the agency’s clients.

Gerson Zweifach has joined News Corp. as senior executive
vice president and group general counsel. He
comes from Williams & Connolly, where he was a partner
handling media, First Amendment, patent, antitrust
and security litigation.

Arts network Ovation has added Brad Samuels to the
new post of executive vice president, distribution.
He comes from MSG Media, where he was executive
vice president, content distribution, MSG Networks
and Fuse.
Also, Chad Gutstein has been promoted to chief operating
officer from executive VP.

Turner Broadcasting System has elevated Nancy Rewis
to vice president, commerce enterprise, for TBS, TNT
and TCM. She had been senior director, commerce enterprise,
for the networks.
VIACOM
Julia Phelps was named senior vice president, corporate
communciations, of Viacom International Media
Networks. She was VP, corporate communications for
Viacom.

New York-based regional sports channel YES Network
has elevated Gracie Mercado to director, human resources,
from manager.
